St. Louis is a Visionary Digital Trailblazer!

We’re proud to share that the City of St. Louis has been recognized as one of the nation’s Visionary Digital Inclusion Trailblazer cities by the National Digital Inclusion Alliance (NDIA) — one of only 34 communities to receive this highest honor. This recognition highlights our progress expanding free community Wi-Fi, digital learning labs, digital skills pathways, and more. Bridging the Digital Divide

SLDC has dedicated $5 million of its ARPA allocation toward Digital Equity in the City of St. Louis. This investment builds on our existing strategies focused on equity, economic development and economic justice. Investing in digital literacy and technology training programs to enable participation in the 21st-century economy and helping to bridge the digital divide is a core initiative of the Economic Empowerment pillar of the Economic Justice Action Plan.

To guide these efforts, we spent the better part of 2023 creating the St. Louis Digital Inclusion Action Plan, which outlines strategic priorities and actions that the city can undertake to improve equitable access to high-speed internet and digital skills needed to succeed in today’s modern society.

Mayor Cara Spencer on the Recognition

“I’m proud of our St. Louis team for earning this recognition for our city and for doing great work for years to make digital tools available to all St. Louisans. This work makes a real difference, opening doors to opportunity and making St. Louisans’ lives easier.”
